April and May will be busy months in The Burren. Here are some events that are taking place.
The Burren Law School Conference takes place at Burren College from 29th April to 1st May. The Burren College is about 8 miles from Lisdoonvarna. This is an annual weekend and the Burren Law School aims to recreat the tradition of legal learning associated with the Brehon Law Schools. This promises to be a very intertaining weekend.
Burren in Bloom takes place in May – this is an annual, month long festival celebrating the wealth of flowers of The Burren. I will post more information on this, as it comes through to me.
The Fleadh Nua Festival takes place in Ennis from 22nd to 30th May. This is a festival of traditional music, singing an dancing. Ennis is just a 30 minute drive from Lisdoonvarna.
The Burren Slow Food Festival takes place in Lisdoonvarna from 20th to 22nd May. This has been a very successful festival in the last few years. Its a great Family Day out, and its a great opportunity to sample foods from local suppliers.
The County Fleadh takes place in Kilfenora from 16th to 20th May. Kilfenora is a favourite village of mine with a lovely traditional feel to it. It is just 8 km from Lisdoonvarna. The village is famous for its music and dancing so this promises to be a fantastic weekend with music sessions and open air music.
As more details on these events come through, I shall post them on the blog
